INNOVATIVE RETAIL DESIGN | |
Auchan Ipermarcati Gruppo Rinascente Company has commissioned the international design magazine l'ARCA to organize an ideas competition open to all Italian and foreign architects and engineers. The competition objective is to generate ideas for a retail facility to be built in many Italian cities. The building should be of great communicative force and architectural value, conveying messages coinciding with the objectives of human civilization at the start of this millennium. It is a flexible facility designed to accommodate the Auchan Gruppo Rinascente's desire to be a leading force of modern-day culture. The building should not be merely a simple prefabricated structure but an urban organism generating emotions even at nighttime. The structure covers surface area of 50.000 square meters on one level only, and should be built within fourteen months at a cost of not more than 1000 Euro per square meter. | ||
