SHORT PROGRAM
- Creating a world class complex of museums capable of demonstrating
the development of Egyptian civilization.The new museum is expected to
house the largest collection of ancient Egyptian monuments and treasures
that reacher about 150,000 pieces.
- Composing of diverse and many satellites, is expected to reflect both
the surrounding environment and the objects it will accommodate in its
architectural design.
- Children will be accommodated in the new museum fostering cultural
awareness among future generations.
- Information technology will be utilized in order to have the first
electronic museum in a manner designed explicitly to facilitate maximum
visitor involvement and participation, it will be the first global virtual
museum.
- The new museum will pay homage to the 3500 pieces of the King's treasures.
These objects will become a part of a thematic exhibitory 'network'.
- Research will be emphasized by providing modern archives and a library
capable of facilitating the management, maintenance, and preservation of
the collection, as well as research- related activities.
- Preservation and conservation artifacts will be an important integral
by establishing a craft center, temporary exhibitions, laboratory, research
areas and workshops.
- Providing the potential for linkages with other museums at both the
national and international level, thus expanding the number of potential
visitors to the complex.
- It will be the first global virtual museum.
- The new design will provide large parking space for visitors and tourists
buses. Also the design will provide specialized open spaces with thematic
landscape to serve as a cultural node in the city.
