SHORT COMPETITION PROGRAM

The purpose of the Competition is to perpetuate, in the form of a monument, the memory of Joseph Brodsky, the great poet and Nobel Prize laureate, who was a paragon of courageous service to the freedom of the human spirit and of loyalty to the classic traditions of Russian and world culture under the Soviet totalitarian regime.

Upon completion of the Competition, the monument to Joseph Brodsky will be built on Vasilievsky Island in St. Petersburg.
